Full Moon in Capricorn - Nurture the Future
Forecast for 24th - 30th June 2007
The second Full Moon of the month, sometimes called a Blue Moon, illuminates the sky next Saturday, 30th June (14.49). Before this, several astrological events take place. Mars leaves its fiery, home domain of Aries, and enters Taurus, on Sunday, 24th June. Replacing the fast, initiating, impatient way of assertion is a slower, enduring, steady flow of energy. Mars in Taurus is capable of prolonged effort, continuing after everyone else has packed up and gone home. It can also be stubborn and unyielding, sensual yet practical. As an earth sign it is connected to nature, and its approaching conjunction to Ceres, known formerly as an asteroid, now a 'dwarf planet', emphasizes the 'Earth Mother' nature of this combination.
This Ceres/Mars connection makes harmonious links to the Sun in Cancer, and Moon in Capricorn at the time of the Full Moon, symbolizing a need to connect with planet Earth, and to nurture and tend to her needs in a sensitive, caring and practical way. It's interesting how the media, politicians, etc. are at last taking note that changes need to be made if the planet is going to remain habitable in the future. The evidence has been around for decades.
Cancer is the sign associated with home, the family, the tribe; Capricorn is concerned with ambition, status, society and tradition. The Full Moon signifies a time of considering the needs of future generations, by learning lessons from the past, and aiming to build a global, humanitarian network, which helps the evolution of both people and the environment.
On a personal level, this Full Moon may bring up issues about the balance between work and play, the part played by both in your life, and also that played out between your life on the home front, and that in the world around you.
It's a time to look at how you switch off from work, and from outer world, including the daily bombardment of mass-communications. Do you choose to leave your mobile off sometimes, put the answer-machine on, and not switch on the tv or radio? I do, because I need that quiet to re-charge, and to listen to any messages from my inner self. Being a sensitive soul, it also helps me to step away from some of the negative messages flying around, to observe rather than absorb. I can't recommend it enough.
On Monday, 25th June, two of the slower-moving planets, Saturn and Neptune, oppose each other for the third and last time in this particular cycle. (The first time took place on August 31st 2006, the second February 28th 2007.) Dreams vs. reality. Oppositions have a see-saw effect, with both ends vying for attention. The aim is to look at both planets involved, in this case Saturn and Neptune, to become aware of any imbalances, and to work towards resolving any dissonance by synthesizing the most positive qualities of all the factors involved. Oppositions are great for becoming more objective and aware of a particular attitude or circumstance.
The Saturn/Neptune opposition is one which throws up questions about ideals and reality. For those on a spiritual path, it can be a testing time, when a realistic look at how your dreams are working out in practice may become necessary. Are your basic survival needs being met? And if not, how can you remedy this? If you're of a more material bent, this opposition may prompt you to think about whether there's more to life than that which can be seen, something beyond the mundane. Could the spiritual side of life have something to offer, and add to your contentment?
The Sun conjuncts Mercury, in Cancer, on Thursday 28th June, emphasizing reason and conscious thinking. These two are still together at the time of the Full Moon on the 30th, and imbue the Full Moon propensity towards fluctuating emotional moods with more common-sense.
On a different level to the Full Moon, Venus opposes Neptune on Saturday 30th, and conjuncts Saturn on 1st July 2007. This also involves questions of 'dreams and reality' but this time in particular, concerns emotional and financial matters. Venus conjunct Saturn can give rise to feelings of being unworthy of love, or it can signify being, or feeling stuck in a relationship that feels cold. The opposition from Neptune clouds the issue (one of the words associated with Neptune is nebulousness), so something about the relationship may not be clear. Deception and/or disillusion may play a part too.
Financially, the Venus/Saturn may be a 'wake-up' call to reconsider your resources, and to see if there is any way you can save money, if you need to. Again, the Neptune factor may mean that something hasn't come to light yet, and it may be a good idea to wait until this particular combination has passed before signing anything that has financial implications.
Enjoy the week!
