The Gemini Garden
The Gemini Garden
As a mutable, air sign, Geminis like change, flexibility, airiness, sociability, and to be informed. In 2006, the Sun is in Gemini from 21st May - 21st June. Their garden may reflect the duality of the sign, containing elements of light and shade, and it may play different roles, expressing the versatility associated with this sign. It may also be continually changing, and evolving. Looking at the same view doesn't sit easily with the typical Gemini, and feeling bored is an anathema to them. Thankfully, the natural change of the seasons, in the UK at any rate, helps with this.
Grasses, sedges, and plants such as Verbena bonariensis, that allow space and air to circulate feely will appeal, as will such accessories as wind-chimes, wind-socks and even windmills. Anything that conveys movement finds affinity with the natural way the Gemini mind works.
A place to socialize, especially to chat and hang out, and maybe party, is probably high on the list for the Gemini person. They need to communicate, and like to circulate, and be in on the latest news, and trends. Hammocks, swinging chairs, and swings will be enjoyed, and are excellent de-stressors. As gardeners, Geminis like to know the names of plants, and the conditions for their welfare, and may be great 'labellers'.
Air plants, also known as epiphytes, may appeal; these don't need any earth, but will grow almost anywhere, absorbing moisture in the atmosphere, and not from the 'host' on which they grow.
The garden also needs to have areas of interest, and an overall feel of lightness, and space, rather than anything too enclosed, heavy or dark.
'Variety is the spice of Life' is a key phrase for Gemini. It makes them feel alive, and a vivacious, adaptable garden, full of movement in a gentle breeze, will reflect their need for this.
